Mail Art Monday: Sail Your Ship

MAM sail your ship

It's definitely been a while but here I am with another Mail Art Monday post. I made this one a while back and recently found the recording of it and sharing the process video below. It is made inspired by the postage stamps and I found rubber stamps and stencils to fit with the theme.

You can see the process here:

Products used:
Distress Oxides, Viva Decor and Arte Mio Clear stamps, Staz-on ink pads, faber castell pitt artist pens, StencilGirl® Doodle it Tornado stencil

Hope you liked seeing the process of this MAM - I'm not sure if I'll be doing the weekly posts, but am thinking about doing them monthly. Let me know in the comments here or in the YT video if you would like seeing more of this Mail Art Tutorial video's.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have an awesome day!

Mail Art Monday - Thinking of you (SCD293 Mail Art)

Stampotique new releases february 2018

It's been a while, but finally felt some inspiration again to make some mail art to share with you on this monday. Created a little set of mail art envie and notecard to share with you and they are all made with Stampotqiue Original Stamps. I used Spongul, the Filmstrip as an address section and Happy Mail from Terri's Salutations 2. Colored with Tombow markers and splatter effect with Distress Oxides. Also stamped the Texture Stamp from Kate for more more interest in the background.

Stampotique new releases february 2018
I have made this notecard to match the envie, using the same stamps and color scheme. The background was done with stencils and DecoArtMedia spray paint in Cyan and Lindy's shimmer sprays.

We have a new challenge running this fortnight, which is the theme of Mail Art! Next week I'll have more inspiration posted for that as well. Come and join us with the challenge and link up your mail art related posts either on the blog or on our facebook page in the designated album. We pick our top 3 fave every week and you'll also be in the running to win a 30$ gift certificate which goes to 2 people every month! So we'll hope you'll join the fun :)

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Mail Art Monday: Autumnal Greetings

Autumn Mail Art Monday

Not sure if you have noticed but my Mail Art Monday section has been quiet lately but today I finally had some mojo back to decorate an envelope as I also finally was getting some snail mail ready for a friend. So I thought I would share it right away as well, seeing the last days of autumn are nearing...it's getting colder and slowly the grey tones are taking over from these lovely amber tones. The base is an ivory envelope and I took a few autumn leaf stamps with a script stamp and just build from there.

Autumn Mail Art Monday
And this is the back of the envelope. I used a few distress oxides to blend inwards and added come accents with a gold marker. I edged the envelope with memento cocoa ink and called it done. It took under 15 minutes to make, a nice and quick envie to get my mail art juices flowing again.

Autumn Mail Art Monday
These are stamps and tools I used. Only think missing is the script stamp from Paper Artsy. From top to bottom the stamps are from Impression Obsession, Inkadinkadoo and Hero Arts.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you all are enjoying the last days of autumn as well.

Mail Art Monday: Soulmate

Your heart speaks

Hey all, it's time to start up my Mail Art Monday segment again after a little break for the summer. Today I am sharing a note card I made with Stampotique stamps. The background is a piece of origami paper I have rolled on some paint over, the lightly scraped modeling paste over a tile stencil and rolled over some more paints in grey and black tones. The dry brushed the piece to get the stencil pattern showing through for texture. Stamped the handwritten script with a white ink ink pad, Black embossed soulmate, spatters with a posca pen and adhered all the other pieces to the card. The angel is colored with wink of stella and water brush. She got a lot of sparkle to her.

Your heart speaks
Before I matted this onto the card stock, I added more gold and bronze spatters and a border with distress crayons. I love how she pops due the the black background and the subtle texture that shows through behind her. A special card you could send to your loved one.

The following stamps were used:

Mail Art Monday: Summer Hiatus (+process video)

MAM summer Hiatus

Hello my dear friends! With the summer holidays here I am slowing down my productivity and having a little hiatus from the weekly Mail Art Monday posts for august/september. This time is to relax, replenish and regroup to come back with more creativity in the fall. I plan on making some more Mail Art tutorials on my You Tube Channel like I did for the one above for Viva Las VegaStamps! A few months ago :)

Hope you enjoyed watching the process video and if you do I would appreciate a 'like' in the video and if you would like to follow my channel then you'd be notified when I have more process video's up (there are a bunch waiting in the editing line....)

Thanks so much for stopping by, your support means a lot! Have a wonderful summer and do drop by for my DT and art journal posts in the coming time :)

Mail Art Monday: I'm not weird, I'm a limited edition

stampotique new releases august
It's another beautiful Monday out and I'm sharing this postcard I made with a bunch of the new stamp releases from Stampotique Originals! I love using book pages in my postcards lately and the background is one I had in my stash a while, it's got left over paints from stencil wiped off it like the star you see on the top left. These new releases really do combine very will together!

I would love to enter this work in the following challenges:

Try it on Tuesday - Postcard

Mail Art Monday: 'Ello

'ello - bookpage postcard Mail Art

'ello my dears - hope you are doing well on this fine Monday! It's time for another Mail Art Monday and I am sharing a postcard I have made recently. It's for a swap on Swap-Bot for the Hand Made Postcard group. Theme was to make a postcard using a book page in your design. As you can see, I used a book page for the background. I used a handmade stencil made from Tim Holtz Mixed Media dies and sennelier watercolors in greens and blues. Then added some gold and white spatters. The edges are stamped with the knitted border from Dylusions stamps and added the black soot crayon around those outer edges.
The focal point, you might have recognized from this video as I was trying to see which of the ladies would fit better at that page. This one didn't go in that art journal page, but she does look very striking here, wouldn't you say? I gave her more color using wink of stella markers, so she also had a bit of shimmer in her. The sentiment was supposed to say "hello" as it was a negative from the TH sizzix words die cut, but the "h" got cut off and well I like the whimsy this adds to the piece.

'ello - bookpage postcard Mail Art
By the way, the woman is a stamp from the clear stamp set "with the right hat" from Dyslusions. I really love the line art of this stamp set and stamping it on a piece of gelli printed paper, makes it even more fun.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day :)

Mail Art Monday: Snow in July

stampotique new releases July

Over at Stampotique this fortnight we have a challenge for you to use your tape. I often use it to put it under an image to "ground" them on the page. I have done that with this postcard as well. I've used Cloy from the July new releases combined with this wonderful quote from  Mark Twain. Cloy is such a fun and interesting image! The background is a typewritten book page which I swiped through distress stains and after it dried I spattered some white and gold liquitex paints over it. It looks like its snowing on a warm july day... but cloy seems to be cold none the less ;) Don't forget to link up your project if you make something to fit the theme :)

I'll be back later this week for more tape inspiration!
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Mail Art Monday: Fancy a Cuppa?

fancy a cuppa

Today I'm sharing a card for coffee lovers, made with VLVS! (the cup and saying) and the splats are from Marianne Design I think. The background is done with Tim Holtz Oxide ink walnut stain and stamped with as well. I also used Staz-on Timber brown. The cup is colored with tombow markers and I placed a lady next to it which is a cut out from a vintage magazine. Found some "atomic age" icon stamps and stamped those as well. created a border with washitape and a krink marker. Sealed it off with Modge Podge shimmering gold. Fun, simple and effective!

Over the weekend I have played with the new Oxide ink colors (so fun and BRIGHT!) and got a fun project to share with you tomorrow :)

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Mail Art Monday: Sewn with love and happiness

Happiness

On today's Mail Art Monday I am sharing another piece from the Masterboard cut out series. I think I have only 4-5 pieces left to work on from that large cut on. This part of the collage had the sewing machine stickers on it and I have chosen to go with that theme. I used some great stitching lines from VLVS!; Sawtooth stitching lines and Stitching lines The squiggle heart suited this imagery well so I used that as well on random places and in the middle. I gave the center of the heart a pop of red color. I've used water soluble crayons over this piece and a fixative spray to water proof it a bit.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenge;

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day :)

Mail Art Monday: walking on sunshine

Mail art Monday

It's Monday and I've got another fun envelope to show you for this week's Mail Art Monday. I was experimenting with some fluorite colors which are a bit outside my comfort zone. But I received these Golden High Flow acrylics in an Art Snacks Box and I played around with the yellow a bit.
The base of the envelope is coated with different distress paints which I had left over on my palette. I just rolled them on with a brayer. Then stamped some fun mixed media stamps from VLVS! with Staz-on inks. The script stamp is from Paper Artsy. I kept the center of the envelope clear from stamping and added a white circle with pearl accents puffy paint. Then I splattered some of that fluorite yellow paint with a thin paintbrush. The focal image is from Stampotique Originals, Freidrich tries Ballet, which I have stamped on sticker paper, fussy cut and adhered to the envelope. The hills he is walking on are made from dylusions stamps on book paper I received in a swap. I have sprayed some Lindy's over it to give it some color. I had cut out the hills and adhered to the page before I placed Freidrich on. Oh and I stamped him on first too so the little details like shoe laces were already there. Lastly I placed a home made faux postage stamp (the kitty is from Jip en Janneke stamp set from the HEMA) which I have made from really old/vintage stick on labels. They are the perfect size for Faux postage! A little stamping of postage marks and it's done!

Hope you enjoyed this colorful envelope and don't forget about the BLOGHOP we're having on Stampotique to celebrate the new release and DT announcement. You can enter until July 7th for fun prizes :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Mail Art Monday: Received Swaps Feature VLVS!

Hey friends, on today's Mail Art Monday, I wanted to do something different. You have seen me reveal all the swaps I sent, but I am sure you are also wondering about the swaps I receive. Well I thought it would be fun to periodically show some fun envies I get in the mail from talented artists out there. Today I am featuring some envies I got in the mail from our Viva Las VegasGroupies swap on facebook from last month. It was a color these with grey and blue and you could only use VLVS! images.

Received this wonderful piece of #mailart from my @vivalasvegastamps DT-mate Shanna! It's super gorgeous and that banksy quote stamp is on my wishlist for sure! We have monthly swaps going on at our FB group, Viva Las Vegastamps Groupies if you want to c

This lovely envelope was made by my fellow DT member Shanna Shands.  I love the gorgeous airy feel it has and the quote stamp from Banksy is just fantastic! By the way, the fountain pen on this envelope which I used to cover my address is the Sailor Pro Gear Slim Four Seasons Haruzora Sky Blue.

Received mail art from Stuff by Belle
This envelope is sent to me by Michele Kosciolek (also our swap host of the group) and I love the circular theme she used and that vintage image on the top left corner is beautifully placed. I actually ordered this stamp as well as it's such a great image. The fountain pen I used to cover my address here is the Edison Nouveau Premier Spring edition 2017 Seaglass from Goulet Pens Co.

Thanks so much ladies fro your wonderful swaps :) Also be sure to check out our Mail Art Monday posts over at Viva Las VegaStamps! to see tutorials and join our groupies FB page to be notified for monthly swaps!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Mail Art Monday - Celebrate!

celebrate

Hi friends, hope you all had an amazing weekend and a wonderful fathers day yesterday. It's monday so I have another fun project to share for this week's Mail Art Monday. It's a postcard from my Scrap Collage master board series. So this piece is cut from that huge master board  which I showed you a while back. This is piece 5 I think... I have been working on many at the same time so I lost track of how many pieces I made already. Anyhow, this one I had not added much to except for some color and stars. I used some white gesso over the card leaving out the Lady (which is from Carmen's Veranda) and then added some color with Marubu watersoluble crayons. I then took a yellow sharpie and scribbled in some starry texture with a STAMPlorations stencil (which I won from last month's challenge, yay!), then added some star sticker, spatters with white gesso and a black border with a Krink Marker. Love how the image of the woman just pops out.

I would like to enter this in the following challenges
LCD challenge for this month of the theme Postcards (super fun challenge and very easy, so join in the fun :)

Have an awesome Monday and thanks so much for stopping by!

Mail Art Monday: If this is reality I'm not interested

Mail Art postcards

Good morning! I am sharing a little quick and quirky postcard for today's Mail Art Monday :)
The background is made with a bit of stamping and applying paints through a few stencils. I went with primary colors and a bit of lavender to off set it. Then matted it to a bigger card stock and colored the edges with a dark teal color. The lady is a cut out from a vintage fashion mag and the phrase stamp is a gem from Viva las VegaStamps! I just love how this imagery came together.

I would like to enter this postcard in the following challenges:

MailArt Monday: Re-Purposed Postcards

A two-for-one on today's Mail Art Monday! I am sharing a couple of postcards I sent out for some swaps on Swap-bot.
handmade pc's
As many of you do, I am sure, I collect vintage postage stamps as well with the means to re-purpose them in my art work. This was made using ONLY postage stamps and postage "salvage" (the material around the postage sheets). This was made for a swap on Swap-Bot in which you were asked to use postage stamps only. These are all vintage postage stamps from the Netherlands. Definitely love the queen portrait stamps and managed to have a little flow/design going on as well.

handmade pc's
In the vertical view you can see the "movement" on the right side better.

handmade pc's
And here it is on its way to its destination. The card on the right is made with stickers alone. A closer look below:

handmade pc's
For this swap you were asked to use stickers only and I have made a circular theme using stickers from Flow Magazine and a few art stickers I had lying about. The bottom is a cityscape silhouette decorative tape which I thought tied the design together.

It's always so fun to encounter swaps which inspire you to get out your stash you rarely use and play with them. Glad to say these arrived well and the recipients liked them.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
