This beautiful Angel stamp designed by Kassa is part of New August releases from Stampotique 

 I thought it would be fun to pair her with this phrase from phrase cube 3 by Terri Richardson  and make a fun sarcastic card out of it :)  The background is done with Brusho's over a script stencil and  colored her with Wink of Stella and Luna markers from zig on sticker paper, fussy cut and adhered to the page. Patience is indeed a virtue, right?

Giveaway: InCoWriMo letter writing starter packs! (open until january 24th!)

The month of February is slowly but surely approaching and that means that InCoWriMo is nearly upon us! To celebrate this fact, I am doing a little letter writing starter pack giveaway for my followers here and on Instagram :)

First, what is InCoWriMo? The International Correspondence Writing Month, for short Incowrimo is a phenomenon that started in 2013 and the goal is to connect with people through, as they call it "vintage social media" - ie writing a letter, postcard, note etc the old fashioned way and mail it to that person. And the pledge is to do this for 28 days, so the whole month of February! Yep, 28 letter/mailings in 28 days! See more on how to participate on the official site. It's all about using your stationery, pens and inks more and of course connecting with people the old fashioned way!

Seeing I have waaaay too much stationery I will ever use up in my lifetime, I wanted to share some with my followers here and on IG. I have compiled, not one, but two starter packs to giveaway! That's right, two lucky people will receive a starter pack from me so you can participate along with so many others (including myself :) The starter packs contain one letter set with sheets of paper and envelopes, a vintage fountain pen (a piston filler) and 5 different ink samples.

Set one consists of midori letter set, Herma 56 piston filler vintage fountain pen and ink samples: Montegrappa bordeaux, Platinum mix leaf green, Pilot Iroshizuku Tsustuji, Pelikan Edelstein Amethyst and Montblanc Blue Hour.

Set two consists of kamio Engrish letterset, Liberty piston filler vintage fountain pen and ink samples: Pilot Iroshizuku Kiri Same, Organics Studio Join or Die, Omas Turquoise, Platinum Mix free earth brown and Diamine Grape.

What you have to do to win one of these packs:

Mailart Monday: Masterboard Inspiration (+giveaway!)

Last week I showed you a group shot of outgoing mail and I wanted to show you a closer look of the Masterboard Inspiration cards I made for this swap on swapbot.

First let me answer "what is a masterboard?" I think Ann in this blogpost on Wonderstange says it best "a masterboard is a great big multi-layered background that you cut up to make smaller pieces: postcards (4″x6″), ATCs (3.5″x2.5″), inchies (1″x1″), chunkies (4″x4″), and other forms of mailart with fun names." And that is exactly what I did when making the cards below.

I took an A4 page which was already party covered in ink residue and stamped with large back ground stamps, layered with stencils and paint and then cut them up into 4 pieces. I chose to pair the portrait stamps from Carmen's Veranda with Lost Coast Designs dictionary words and create 4 inspiration mail art cards. I stamped them all with Staz-On black but it wasn't black enough for my liking, so I traced the images with a sharpie to make it more pronounced black.

In the end I also spattered some liquid acrylics in gold, bronze, silver metallic and white onto the cards to make it more interesting. What I love about masterboards is that you cam make a lot of cards in a small amount of time.

The bottom two already were mailed out for the swap, but the top two I still have available and I decided to do a fun giveaway for them. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post and I'll pick two entries and mail out one card to each. I will pick the winners on Monday 22nd so in 2 weeks from now. If you have a preference of Poe or Dali, let me know that in the comments to and I might just grant your request :)

Pens and Ink: Pelikan M620 Picadilly Circus with OS Lavender (+ ink giveaway!)

Another one of my Pelikan's in this weeks Pens and Ink. This was a great coïncidence spotting this pen at a somewhat local store. Tt's calledThe Picadilly Circus (although I don't really see why exactly...)  and another one in the line of the Pelikan M620 city series. It has beautiful swirls, red, grey and blue. The blue has a bit of a purple hue and I chose an ink close to that tone.

The Organics studio ink line has been discontinued for a few years now. I got these inks in Sweden a couple of years ago when they were still available at the Pen Store in Stockholm. The ink I used in my Pelikan Picadilly is the bottom right one.

This was my pair up for last week's Monday Matchup. The pen has a Medium single tone nib and writes super smooth. Though these M620 come with duo tone nibs, the lady at the shop was so kind enough to change it for me to a single tone one because I think it matches the other details, like clip and rings on the pen better.

Another page from my loving kindness gratitude journal. I have to say that even though the color does match the pen, it's not my first go to color for a solid blue. But it's definitely a decent 'work safe color'. Check out this review from Katy on the Goulet Pens Blog if you wanna know more about the ink.
