Wish You were Here - VLVS! July challenge Inspiration

Hi everyone! I have a post over at Viva Las VegaStamps! blog as a bit of inspiration for our July challenge. I have made the above ICAD (index card a day is a challenge that runs every summer in June and July) and while I am not participating this year, our challenge inspiration prompt is summer and the ICAD is always a summer activity so I thought it would be fitting to make one :)

I have also filmed the process, so be sure to check out that video as well to see how I created this piece.
Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have an awesome day!

ATC: Freaky little thing - VLVS!

Today I'm sharing an ATC I have made with wonderful Viva Las VegaStamps! over at the inspiration blog. It's based on this month's challenge inspiration board.

The gorgeous blue green colors of the mood board inspired me! We'd also like to inspire you with words like SPRING! flowers, doodles, buds, whimsical, patterns, checkerboard, stars, wings, Mary Vogel Lozinak, banners, green, teal, white, black... and whatever else you may be inspired from by seeing the mood board.

I've used a fun and easy resist technique for the background with heavy matte medium and ecoline. I find that the bold complimentary colors make the image on the foreground pop. If you have a look at my blog post over at VLVS! you can see more pictures and info on how I made this piece. Hopefully this will inspire you to play along with this month's challenge as well.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

Courageous Mother Nature

Today I wanted to show you a Mixed Media card I made inspired by this month's Challenge Inspiration Board over at Viva Las VegaStamps!

Beautiful isn't it? I got inspired by the nature elements and the green and purple colors.

Last week I showed you how the Mixed Media base  of the card was made.
I added a lot of paints on to the card to get the bold colors layered well.
Some detail shots below:

Please visit my blogpost over at VLVS! to see the details on how I made this card and which stamps I used. Hopefully this will inspire you to play along with this month's VLVS! challenge as well.

Art Journal: Creativity Takes Courage

I'm back this week at the Viva Las VegaStamps! inspiration blog with some more Banksy inspiration, this time for our February challenge. I made the art journal page in my pocket journal based on this month's mood board which is this:

Isn't it fantastic?? Words like reds, oranges, greens, blues, pinks, purples... ALL the colors! Spray paint, art, graffiti, artists, surrealism, banksy, stripes, splatters, drips, dots and more inspired me to take some fun stamps and my distress paints and play!

Have a look at my post over at VLVS! on how I made the above journal page and more close up shots! Don't forget to link up to the challenge to have the chance to win some great rubber stamps :)

I'm also entering this page at the Try in on Tuesday's challenge Let's get Messy which I think this journal page fits PERFECTLY :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Art Journal: Inhale the future

Last week I shared some really great news with you all and today is my first post over at the VLVS! DT inspiration blog, yay! I created a mindful journal page to ring in the new year with warmth, a hopeful message and a resolution of some sort.

Feed your Soul.

Inhale the future, exhale the past.

Enlighten!

Do all things with LOVE.

This page was created during the first couple of days of the new year and the process was really meditative. The steps of the process you can see below and I used stamps from VLVS! plate 1475 which has wonderful stamps to incorporate in mindful, meditative art journal pages.

I trimmed the page to fit in my new spiral bound journal with black pages. I often do very colorful work so I like the fact that the journal automatically matted the adhered page.

For a detailed descriptive process/tutorial and more pictures, please visit my post at the VLVS!DT inspiration blog
