The month of February is slowly but surely approaching and that means that InCoWriMo is nearly upon us! To celebrate this fact, I am doing a little letter writing starter pack giveaway for my followers here and on Instagram :)
First, what is InCoWriMo? The International Correspondence Writing Month, for short Incowrimo is a phenomenon that started in 2013 and the goal is to connect with people through, as they call it "vintage social media" - ie writing a letter, postcard, note etc the old fashioned way and mail it to that person. And the pledge is to do this for 28 days, so the whole month of February! Yep, 28 letter/mailings in 28 days! See more on how to participate on the official site. It's all about using your stationery, pens and inks more and of course connecting with people the old fashioned way!
Seeing I have waaaay too much stationery I will ever use up in my lifetime, I wanted to share some with my followers here and on IG. I have compiled, not one, but two starter packs to giveaway! That's right, two lucky people will receive a starter pack from me so you can participate along with so many others (including myself :) The starter packs contain one letter set with sheets of paper and envelopes, a vintage fountain pen (a piston filler) and 5 different ink samples.
Set one consists of midori letter set, Herma 56 piston filler vintage fountain pen and ink samples: Montegrappa bordeaux, Platinum mix leaf green, Pilot Iroshizuku Tsustuji, Pelikan Edelstein Amethyst and Montblanc Blue Hour.
Set two consists of kamio Engrish letterset, Liberty piston filler vintage fountain pen and ink samples: Pilot Iroshizuku Kiri Same, Organics Studio Join or Die, Omas Turquoise, Platinum Mix free earth brown and Diamine Grape.
What you have to do to win one of these packs:
Set one will be given away to one of my blog readers and all you have to do is comment on this post and let me know who you would write a letter to and why. That is it! Set two will be given away ion my instagram and you can also enter there (same question) if you want to try to win that set. Just look for the giveaway picture on my instagram and answer there.
RULES of the giveaway:
Open internationally, Only one entry per person per set (so once on instagram and once here) and the giveaway closes on January 24th at midnight CET, I will announce the winners (which will be chosen at random) shortly after in the following day or two so they can get the starter pack just before International Correspondence Writing Month starts.
So what are you waiting for? Leave me a comment and tell me who you'd write to :)
Also if you'd like to be on my InCoWriMo mailing list; leave your address here at my POSTABLE. (disclaimer: While I will do my best to send mail to people on my list, which is now half full, but if there is a high demand I might not be able to respond to everyone's request.)
Thanks for stopping by and looking forward to read your answers below :) Have a great day!
Thank you for the giveaway first of all. I would definitely write a letter to my sister who lives abroad. I think it's a good way to make her use the pen I bought for her a while ago.
ReplyDeleteGreat competition. I would write to Donald Trump and share my disappointment in his policies, his ideas, and his approach to life. Of course I could write anything as I don't believe he actually reads !
ReplyDeleteWell i would send a letter to my friend who is studying in Germany because it would really surprise him.
Groetjes, Gerrina
I would send a letter to my mom. She loves getting mail!
ReplyDeleteI would send a letter to my mum. She's the best and I think she'd really appreciate. She's also a stationery geek.
ReplyDeleteI will write a letter to my sister. She's always been good at sending notes in the mail. I never have been. It's my goal this year to change that about myself.
ReplyDeleteI'd write a letter to my brother. He passed away last day of 2016. He loved fountain pens and recently gave me 3 from his collection. Two Parker Vas and a Sheaffer Snorkel. I use them daily. He was not in great health but his death unexpected, this will allow me the good bye I wish we'd had.
ReplyDeleteI would write to my best friend from forever. We have been thru a lot together. Now live years apart. Long way anyway.
ReplyDeleteI would send me wife a love letter. We used to work at the same office and when I would leave before her I would leave love notes on her windshield. I got promoted recently and I am now in a different office so I can't do that anymore. I would surprise her and send her a note through our mailroom just to brighten up her day. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteLol *my
DeleteI found out about Incowrimo last year just as February was coming to an end so I didn't get to participate but I would certainly like to participate this year. I would like to write to anyone in Asia, particularly in Japan, I find the culture intriguing and would like to read first hand what it is like from someone there. I hope to someday be able to visit and see it for myself as well. Thanks for the thoughtful giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI usually write to my buddy and best-man at my wedding. We write about our kids, lives, and struggles. It's very therapeutic!
ReplyDeleteI am going to write to a couple of friends going through a rough patch to encourage them to keep going! Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great giveaway! Thank you! I would write a letter to my best friend. We used to write each other long rambling letters, but lately just text quick little messages. It would be fun to relive those rambling days :)
ReplyDeleteI would write to my mother. She loves stamps and collects them. I always tease her that they'll all be mine someday, ha!!!
ReplyDeleteLovely giveaway, thank you :)
ReplyDeleteLetters are important and beautiful way of communication.
My letter would be to my distant family member, to know more about old times :)
I would write letters to all my good friends who have moved to other states over the past 15 years of my life. I miss them dearly and would love to write to them in an intimate way that says I care about them still. Thank you for this giveaway !
ReplyDeleteHope you saw the winner announcement :) You are one of the lucky people! congrats!
DeleteSadly you have not responded timely to the giveaway winner post to email me, so you have forfeited your winnings :(
DeleteI would write a letter to my wife because she is that special.
ReplyDeleteI have a friend in Amsterdam who would really appreciate receiving a letter; it's been on my list to write to her but I've been slacking.
ReplyDeleteI 'm going to write to my sister as we have been estranged for some years and a catch up is long overdue.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the chance! I would write a letter to a close friend. She has moved in another country because of her work and I actually miss her quite a lot, so I think that writing a letter to her is a nice idea because this can actually make her feel better about all that have changed so rapidly!
ReplyDeleteI'd write a letter to my late mother. I still miss her every day.
ReplyDeleteMy wife got me into doing InCoWriMo as well and for one of my days I want to send a letter to Antartica, because sending a letter to the bottom of the world would be so cool and to hopefully get a letter back!
ReplyDeleteI would be writing to my sister, who lives in Switzerland and I haven't seen her in two years. So that will be the first letter that goes out in InCoWriMo.
ReplyDeleteI'd write to my cousin who's in college that I don't see that much. We dont get to see each other very much but when we do it's like we saw each other just yesterday.
ReplyDeleteI write to keep in touch with my friends from out of state after I've moved away. It's a joy to still be involved in their lives.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to write a new penpal to get practice with my fountain pen penmanship and meet someone interesting!
ReplyDeleteAwesome little giveaway! I'd write to my friend Clarissa, because she's finally in one spot long enough to receive letters. (she moves, a LOT)
ReplyDeletewhile it might not be international, I'm writing to a very close friend of mine to tell her how much she means to me and how much better my life is with her in it.
ReplyDeleteI am new to this and loving it! I am planning to blitz my friends and def plan to send a few to myself too
ReplyDeletea friend and i have been exchanging letters for the past 30 years. it is so wonderful to send and receive happiness and love.
ReplyDeleteI would write a letter to my partner, who is beautiful inside and out, and tell her how proud I am of her as a person.
ReplyDeleteI would write a letter to my new grandson. He has not arrived yet. His dear mum lives in Australia and we miss her so much and are so sad we will not be with her when grandson arrives. She cannot return to us until after his birth. And I am lonely for her and excited to meet him. We connect on facebook but it is not the same as a lovely piece of paper in your hand. Thank you very much for giving me the opportunity for this giveaway.
ReplyDeleteThe main person I'd like to write to is my 93 year old grandfather. Modern social media isn't his thing. Since I live about 500 miles away from him, I don't get that many opportunities to really talk about my life with him. Getting letters from me would thrill him, and likewise, letters from him would be something to cherish for years to come.
ReplyDeleteI want to write to my friend who moved across the country and who I recently got into fountain pens! It'd be a good way for us to use our pens and keep in touch better.
ReplyDeleteI think the incowrimo and the giveaways are great. It is something I can do. I am not creative enough for things like inktober. But, I can write a letter(s). I would write a letter to my daughter. I enjoy being a part of her adult life. We share many interest like fountain pens, paper, journals etc. Her letter will probably be the first I write in February.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, thank you for the chance :) I would write to my birth mother the letter I would like to receive from her!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome giveaway opportunity! If I could write anyone at any point in time, I'd like to write Jane Austen. Growing up on her writings (and being a librarian and feeling like I should have been born in England) I think it would be fascinating to be a penpal with Ms. Austen...to hear about her life and goings on through letters would be so much fun. That probably sounds cheesy, but I think she'd be a hoot to correspond with!

ReplyDeleteJust in time! I would write a letter to a dear friend of mine, whom I haven't seen in a while and who has had a difficult time earlier in the last year. I would write to her that I still do care about her, even though I haven't spoken to her lately, and by writing a letter I will have given her some of mine time, even though we couldn't have spoken to each other in real life.
ReplyDeleteThe previous winner did not respond and I had to pick a new winner via random org... Congratulations! You have won the starter kit package! Please email me your address so I can send you the starter kit (miss.thundercat (at) gmail.com) thanks!
DeleteMy dad, who has Alzheimer's. The nurses transcribe his responses and mail them to me. Plus all my friends in New Mexico and my dear husband.
ReplyDeleteI would write my grandparents, who live several states away where I can't visit them nearly often enough.
ReplyDeleteI would write to my sister-in-law. She doesn't use electronic media and likes to write notes. Since my brother passed away a few months ago, I would like to keep in more frequent contact with her without making lots of phone calls.
ReplyDeleteI would write to my mom, who has isolated herself from the world.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your generous giveaway. I'd like to write to everyone I ever thought I'd write to but never did. And a few more, besides!

ReplyDeleteI would write to family, both nearby and in Europe.
ReplyDeleteI missed the dead line but am answering any way! "This is lovely! I'd write my husband! He adores getting letters from me, but I am so bad about taking the time to write them (we're separated by distance, at the moment :( ). As an author, I have a great ebook I can add to your give away. It's short and called 24 love letter ideas. It's actually totally free on all platforms. If you'd like the link to check it out, just message me and I'll send it right over!"
ReplyDeleteThank you all for participating in this giveaway and for all the wonderful and heartfelt comments!! I have chosen some winners via random number generator and it's announced here https://missthundercat.blogspot.nl/2017/01/incowrimo-giveaway-winners.html
