From the bottom of my heart - AALL & Create

Hi all, thank you for stopping by my blog today. I have a card made with a gorgeous stamp set from AALL & Create which I wanted to share with you today. This gorgeous flowers blooming from the heart is a stamp from set #138 by Olga Heldwein and I used an emboss resist technique.

I started off by stamping the image with versamark on watercolor paper and I have embossed is with white embossing powder.

The I sprinkled some pigment powder - color Kathrynwheel by Nuvo - and spritzed water over it. You can see the gorgeous color appear and notice how the embossed aria's resist the pigment.
I added more pigment until I was satisfied with the color and dried with my heat tool, being careful not to over heat the embossed part.

This is the base of my card, which I then trimmed & matted onto black card stock. I love how you can see the color nuances of the powders in the flowers.

Before matting it onto black cardstock I took black soot distress oxide and a blending tool and went around the edges. Then splattered some water and copper distress stain over it. I also enhanced a bit of the flower pattern with a Tombow marker in Merlot to give the image a bit of shading. All the edges are gilded with the bronze distress stain and the sentiment is also from the same set & I white embossed it on black cardstock & adhered with foam tape.

It's a card you can sent to someone to express your heartfelt emotions; to say thanks, to say that you care, to let them know they are loved... all from the bottom of your heart, which then blooms expressively and vibrantly with love.
Hope you liked seeing this project with gorgeous AALL & Create stamps. Please visit their boutique to shop online or to see where you can get these stamps from their many stockists world wide.

Heartfelt Thanks!

Heartfelt Thanks
Any day is a good day to show gratitude and I'm sharing this handmade watercolor card made with this gorgeous Heartfelt Rose stamp set from Stamplorations.

Heartfelt Thanks
I've embossed the image and sentiment with gold honey pearl WOW embossing powder on watercolor cardstock. Then colored it in with Sennelier watercolors and handmade watercolors from Cloves and honey. Matted it onto grey card stock and rounded the corners. Then adhered it onto a 4x6 notecard on which I have adhered a piece of gelli printed paper. I like how the design comes together.

Heartfelt thanks 💖 A card made with @stamplorations stamps and @pfeifferartsupply and @clovesandhoney watercolors. Have a great thanksgiving to those whom celebrate it 💖 _________ #thankyou #thankyounotes #thankyoucards #he
If you tilt the card into the light you can see the shimmering of the watercolors in the rose.

Thank you card with magic INK technique

Thank you card

A great scours of inspiration has been watching these great little (10 min max) video tutorials on various art techniques over at YouTube. I'm following this awesome illustrator Mary Doodles and she creates fantastic illustrations using india ink combined with water colors. Check this Wolf in INK video out, isn't it MAGIC? The thank you card I am sharing has been done with that technique. Super fun and easy to do! You just have to move quickly and accept serendipity!

Thank you card
If you can't really draw, or are stumped on idea's what to draw, you can also use stencils. I have taken a feather stencil (by Viva Decor) and placed it on top of watercolor paper (maruman zuan) and brushed water over the stencil onto the paper. Removed the stencil, got my brush loaded with india ink and tapped the water on various places to make the feather appear. SO FUN to watch! The outcome is not perfect or as sharp as the stencil is, but I love the airy "feathery" feel they have. Once dry the india ink is water proof. I wet my paper a little in various places and tapped a bit of fountain pen ink in Diamine Magenta and Havasu Turquoise on the water to spread and mix. I mopped up some excess water and spattered more inda ink and a bit of water to get some more texture. The Thank You sentiment is a stamp from Studio Light, a nice hand written font adds to the whimsy of the card. Matted onto black card stock and then onto a blue card. I chose a violet envelop for it to keep the color scheme going.

Check out more of Mary's awesome How To tutorial video's HERE. Hope this inspired you to get out some india ink and various water color ink and play with them. Once you get going, you can make a whole stack, trust me!
