It's Stampotique challenge time again and it's the second week of Bookmarks. I've created this fun bookmark with Queenie, parts of a quote from Quotes 2 and the wonderful textures cube from Kate Crane. We would love it if you would join the fun and link your project on the Blog HERE OR on Facebook HERE. Every week we choose our top 3 and at the end of the month 2 from the top picks are chosen as winners of a gift certificate to the Stampotique online store. Make sure you do read all the rules before entering, one of them is that you enter no more than 4 other challenges (5 including Stampotique) and sadly this rule is often overlooked. So do keep that in mind when linking up :)
ETA: you can use ANY stamp to participate in the challenge, it doesn't have to be from Stampotique Originals exclusively :)

On the topic of bookmarks I do have a question for you: are you a paper book reader or e-reader kind of person? I'm more of an hybrid reader myself as I love both. I have an e-reader as it's so handy to take with you on travels abroad, but I just love the feel of a "real" book in my hands and leaf through the pages. I prefer to have hard back bound copies of my fave books from my fave writers, esp. from Haruki Murakami and books on mindfulness and compassion (which this book is about). I often leave the book on my desk and read a few pages with my morning cuppa coffee.
Sharing this desk shot with all the lovely desker's at Julia's WOYWW#455 and I thank everyone for their visit last week! I'm sorry I wasn't able to return a few visits later in the week. It was a bit hectic as the father of a dear friend of mine passed away suddenly. The service was on friday which was beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. I'm proud of my friend that she was able to stand up and recite the beautiful eulogy she had written. And I'm grateful I was able to support her when she needed me. Anyhow, I will do my best to catch up with you all this week.
Thanks for stopping by! Hope everyone and all your loved ones are doing well.
Love your bookmark. Have never really got around to buying stampotique(I don't think I own a single one) though I do love the images and follow the FB groupd. Ah well, still time I suppose. Happy Wednesday Cindy #14 xx
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy, thanks for replying- you can use ANY stamp from any company, so not from Stampotique only :) I shall add that in the text too. xo
DeleteMmmm must have a look at the challenge. It is so annoying when folks don't bother reading the rules and sticking to them. I had a similar rule about number of entries when I ran a challenge blog. Spent so much time writing to peeps who had not read the rules - waste of my time.
ReplyDeleteLove your bookmark. I am a Kindle girl (slight exaggeration on the 'girl') but I do like bookmarks and use them in craft books.
Hugs, Neet 9 xx
Love the bookmark. I don't have any Stampotique stuff so will be unable to participate. I do always read the rules before entering challenges. It must be most frustrating when people don't. Have a good week. Sarah #7

Hi Cheetarah- like you I'm a hybrid, for exactly the same reasons. I'd need a whole suitcase just to pack enough books to last me on holiday, lol. I noticed on BJ's blog, you commented you work next door to the Van Gogh museum- do you live in Amsterdam, by any chance? I ask, because we are coming to The Netherlands in September, primarily for a concert in Tilburg, but are then having a few days in Amsterdam, and I saw there was a Van Gogh Museum, which went straight to the top of our 'must visit' list, i am such a fan of his work. Would be wonderful to be able to grab a coffee together- we are there for 3 or 4 days. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #8 XxX
ReplyDeleteI love your bookmark, those Stampotique images are so funky and great fun! I'm a hybrid gal too, fiction on my Kindle, recipe and craft stuff on paper :-D

Your bookmark looks so lovely in your book. I have to say that I read both books and e-books. W-books are so easy to check out from the library from home, and you never loose your place. I especially like that I can hold my finger on a word, and I can get the definition so easily! So, getting more and more into e-books. Thank you for your earlier visit. #24
ReplyDeleteI love how you made this book mark in a book. I am more a kindle reader as old age and years of sewing and embroidery has taken its toll on my hands and Kindle's are much easier. Tonight I am presenting Pachinko, to my book-club, first time I ever read a book twice but I read it first 7 months ago. It is so well crafted and characters never fade out like they often do in sagas. I also love Stampotique Stamps.
ReplyDeleteHave a super week

Super bookmark and love your foxy mug too. Thanks for the visit BJ#4
ReplyDeleteHi there and thanks for popping by. Love the bookmark. Will have a peep at the challenge - I don't have Stampotique Stamps but read that it doesn't have to be :-) I don't have a Kindle, at the moment love books too much. Not saying I won't get one at some point though. Anne x #15
ReplyDeletebooks every time for me, I used to read avidly but haven't done much lately - have a huge pile by the bed waiting to be gone through.... your bookmarks are fabulous. I always use one, I can't stand it when people fold over the pages.... lol! have a great week.. Helen #1
ReplyDeleteI love your funky bookmark - I used to make fabric ones - it's just a nice size for a little project isn't it. x Jo
ReplyDeleteHi Cheetarah. Your bookmark is great. I will look into the challenge. I'm also a hybrid- kindle for holidays, but I do love to turn the pages on a book. Have a lovely week Heather x #28
ReplyDeleteGorgeous book mark. I so love those stamps, I have a few but don't seem to have used them much recently and will have to get them out again. Happy crafty woyww, Angela x16x
ReplyDeletee reader all the way.... cannot go back to paper books. The only downside is not being able to use lovely bookmarks. :(

I always said I didn't want a Kindle love the feel of a book, but my daughter gave me one and now I am converted especially for reading in bed. I still read good old fashion books though so the bookmarks would still be useful. Love the one you have made. Ani #2
ReplyDeleteHi there. I'm really late getting round this week - Me?? I'm a real book reader. I love the feel of it in my hands, and I devour books - just LOVE reading - have succeeded in passing it on to my daughters and grandchildren, too. They are often to be found with their noses in books! You have a great fun bookmark there to go with your real book.
ReplyDeleteI had a good time with Mr and Mrs D - they are glad to be on their boat again, and have now set off on their travels across England. Teehee - I certainly won't be making ALL those bags myself - we have a great group of folks who each make some. I simply cut them out and make a few!
Take care. God bless.
